Proceedings of Past Forest Nursery Association Meetings:
Variable Seed Dormancy in Rocky Mountain Juniper |
Rietveld, W.J. |
1989: Bismark, ND |
Rocky Mountain juniper is difficult to grow in the nursery due to variable
seed dormancy that spreads germination over time. In two experiments, six seed
sources, five seed treatments, and 15 stratification treatments were tested. Although
there were some seed source and stratification treatment differences, none of the
treatments effectively enhanced germination amount or timing enough to be useful in
nursery culture. |
